Residencies
Malý Berlín offers residency programs for artists, cultural managers, curators, and researchers. These residencies provide space for creative development, collaboration, and engagement with the local cultural scene. Through partnerships with international organizations, Malý Berlín supports cross-border artistic exchange, hosting residents in Trnava while also facilitating opportunities for Slovak artists and culture workers abroad. Participants benefit from accommodation, workspaces, and professional networking, contributing to innovative projects in various fields, from visual and performing arts to architecture and cultural research.
Funded residencies
We offer several funded residencies each year. Residents receive financial and travel support, free accommodation and workspace. We prefer residencies of three months, with minimum stay set to 8 weeks, if full residency is not possible and nature of the residential project allows it. During the residency we kindly ask our residents to do at least one public event with us other than a presentation of the results of residency.
Summer residencies for performing arts
During the summer months, we offer our venues mostly to independent theatre and dance groups or individuals for short-term residencies with a maximum stay of two weeks. These are ideal for those looking for a quiet place for artistic research, creation of a new performance or rehearsals. Free accommodation may not be available.
—
As Malý Berlín is not just a residential centre and we offer cultural, artistic and educational programs to our audiences and visitors on an almost daily basis, residencies are self-led and residents have responsibility for their stay. But we are always trying to be available to our residents with support, advice or time for friendly chat.
