Malý Berlín is organizing an online workshop for culture, NGO sector and academics from Slovakia and Ukraine. Together with speakers, we will explore how international funding works, how to look for partners and establish partnerships, what to consider when writing a grant, what pitfalls to avoid when filling out applications, and how to find the best grant for your project.

We will talk about how to join grant applications for Erasmus+, CERV and International Visegrad Fund in connection to a new round of open calls coming for 2025.

INVITED SPEAKERS:

ERASMUS+
Denisa Karabová is a chairwoman of the European Dialogue, a civic association promoting active citizenship, professional media and art, quality youth work, and media literacy in Slovakia and abroad. She works as a project manager, youth worker, facilitator, and researcher involved in several long-term international projects. In 2018, she completed her PhD studies in the European Studies program and has a vast experience in formal education as a lecturer specialising mostly on Europeanization changes and the political system of the EU. Within non-formal education, she is focused and most passionate about the topics of media literacy and active participation, which she considers as crucial for a functional democratic society.

CERV Programme
Zrnka Kušen is a distinguished project manager and the founder of Margina Consulting, established in 2018. With over 20 years of experience in project management across national, EU, and international platforms, Zrnka is a recognized expert in the full project lifecycle, including development, implementation, and reporting.

Her academic background includes an M.A. in Sociology and Croatian Culture from the University of Zagreb’s Croatian Studies. Zrnka has been actively involved in shaping the future of project management education as an external lecturer at Algebra University College since 2019, specializing in EU funds.

At Margina Consulting, Zrnka and her team provide tailored consulting services to NGOs, cooperatives, foundations, and public institutions. The firm excels in project development, administrative and financial support, and organizational strategies, with a focus on the CERV Programme. Under Zrnka’s leadership, Margina Consulting has become a trusted partner for clients navigating the complexities of EU and international funding programs. Martin Krištof
Graduate of the Department of Theatre, Film and Media Studies at Palacký University in Olomouc. He worked for many years as a producer and dramaturge in the associated cultural centres Stanica and Nová synagóga in Žilina, and the cycloactivist association Mulica. Since the pandemic freelance. Founder and for about 17 years head of the Kiosk and Kinobus festivals. Interested in authorial statements, cross projects, artistic edges, community art, activism. Loves old cinemas, talking to projectionists and writing small or marginal histories of cinema.


The event is part of Common Futures: SK – UA Connection project which was supported by the Open Society Foundation and the Pontis Foundation from the donation of the Taipei Representative Office in Slovakia. The aim of the project is to support the development of bilateral relations between Slovak and Ukrainian actors from the fields of culture, education and the non-governmental sector.
